Youth Riders
Regional Show Participants
The goal of the Big Buddy, Little Buddy Program is to pair a willing Big Buddy with a
youth rider for mentorship, support, and being a friendly face in Cowboy Dressage.
This program would provide each family extra support and experience.
Examples and suggestions for Big Buddy roles (NOT requirements):
● Communicating about upcoming events and opportunities for their Little Buddy to
attend. If a Big Buddy is attending a clinic, maybe the Little Buddy can come
audit and hang out. Or maybe the Little Buddy is their groom for the clinic or their
next show.
● Regional Show Support: There is a HUGE need to get these kids ready for
Regionals. They need someone other than parents on the side of the show pen.
We all need an arena buddy.
● A Big Buddy could attend a Cowboy Dressage Playday with their Little Buddy
and practice calling for them. Give them tips or video them for real time feedback.
Financial Support:
●All financial contributions go into the CDWCO Youth Scholarship Fund, administered at CDWCO’s full
discretion. Funds may support Regional expenses for a youth rider. Unused funds roll into the general
scholarship pool.
Commitment Levels:
Bronze Level: Big Buddy Time (Time Only)- 2 or 3 hours before Regionals in October
Silver Level: Big Buddy Scholarship (Money Only)- $50 or more!
Gold Level: Big Buddy Full Sponsorship (Time and Money Contribution)- $100

Elizabeth
Thank you, Steph Morrison, for your Gold Sponsorship of Elizabeth!
Elizabeth joined Cowboy Dressage World of Colorado in 2025. She has attended all of the Youth Playdays in the Youth Playday Series. She has grown up riding horses with her mom, Katrina. Moo has been in their family for years and has carried her riders at high speeds. Moo is still going strong.
"I’m Elizabeth. My horse is named Moo. She is 23 years old and I have known her since the day I was born. Riding Moo is my favorite thing to do. I like to ride and learn more at the shows. I would like to learn more control and faster speeds." ~Elizabeth
Elizabeth is headed to the CDWCO Regional Show on October 3rd and 4th! She will be camping all weekend at the event with her mom, and she is looking for a Big Buddy Sponsor!
Samara
Thank you, Lori Case, for your Gold Sponsorship of Samara!
My name is Samara (age 12). I got Cloud (age 25) when I was 10 ½. I named him Cloud (trust me – not for his smooth trot) but because Jesus comes back on a white horse and a cloud – so I get to ride both too! He was on the cover The Trail Rider magazine, was the owner’s horse at Sombrero trail riding, and later he was a Weld County posse horse. I think his favorite job is being a girl’s horse. He’s a really good boy.
I hadn’t ever heard of Cowboy Dressage until Corinne invited us to join. I enjoy getting to ride and just have fun with other kids who love horses. I also like the fun stuff the sponsors give us for our horses. What I most like about Cowboy Dressage is partnering with my horse. I like when he does something because he wants to do it with me, not because I made him do it. I started to trot because of going to the youth play days and I’ve gotten a lot more confident this summer because of doing Cowboy Dressage.
Natalie
Thank you, Steph Morrison, for your Gold Sponsorship of Natalie!
Hi my name is Natalie and my horse's name is Poca, my favorite thing to do with Poca is probably just spending time with her but I really love going on trail rides! I love showing in cowboy dressage and my favorite part of showing is honestly the people it's such a good community, and I also just love working on my bond with my horse as well as improving my riding skills!

Kylie
Thank you, Kathie Hibbard, for your Gold Sponsorship of Kylie!
My name is Kylie. I'm 14 years old. I live in the mountains of Nederland Colorado. I have been riding before since I can remember. Marty Martin held me through my first horsemanship clinic at just 13 weeks old! Horses have always been my eternal happy place. I have a sorrel painted pony named Abby. Honestly, I don’t think I love anything else more. Whether it's riding on mountain trails or showing tests, even gymkhana (we were not very good), I love spending time with her. I did my first show at 3 years old. It was the BCHA fun show leadline class. I have always loved showing clothes, the adrenaline and the environment in general. The thing I love about cowboy dressage shows is that no one mean or rude were all just there with the goal of improving and becoming better riders for our horses. I have a few goals this year. My first is getting at least one 70 every show. Honestly, when I started cowboy dressage I could never have imagined that would be my goal. Just 3 years ago, I had no idea what a 10 or 20-meter circle was. This is just one reason I am so incredibly grateful for cowboy dressage and all it has taught me. I have so much gratitude to the people that made this dream possible and who provide so many opportunities for me to learn and grow.

Trinidy
Thank you, Lori Case & Steph Morrison, for your Gold Sponsorship of Trinidy!
Hi, my name is Trinidy. I currently have three horses, Bailey, Trap and Faith. Although Bailey and I are really working at liberty and the lope tests. I ride Western and have some knowledge of English. My goal this year and next is to be able to do liberty classes. I currently take welding classes at school and am in 4H. As of this year my plans for my future are possibly going to William woods and trade school. I also want to move to Wyoming. I love training horses, and giving riding lessons along with welding.
Some people who have helped me is Lily Thomas, Annette Nusser, My Nana, My mom, my Papa (when he could be at horse shows), my Dad, Corrine, my neighbors Jen and Trueman, along with Kim.
Having good horsemanship to me means to help the other people when needed and to be a leader. Along with taking proper care of your horse/s and to put your horse over the sport. And you always try to do your best no matter how hard it is. And if you need help, just ask.
